Questions?

How Many dogs do you walk at once?

I walk 2 to 3 dogs on each walk. Depending on age, level of training, and where we are.

Where do you walk?

We do local walks and walks further afield in the car. We aim to go on a different walk every day and go to the Secure Dog walking field a couple of times a week.

Do you walk dogs off lead?

No. I walk my own dogs off-lead. I do not walk visiting dogs off-lead apart from when we are in the secure field.

How many dogs do you have at once?

I aim to have 1 households dogs at a time overnight. This is after a successful meet an greet.

Where will my dog sleep?

Your dog/s can sleep in the kitchen with all the other dogs or if they prefer they can sleep in a separate room. They can sleep on sofas, open crates, dog beds, or the floor. To protect joints, dogs are not allowed to go upstairs.

Do you have a Council Licence?

No. Getting a licence is something I have prepared for, but not deemed necessary at this time, as according to the guidelines I do not dog sit enough for it to be warranted by the council or financially. I am aware of the guidelines and my animal policies do reflect this.
My house has been inspected & Passed by The Kennel Clubs Assured Breeder Programme as being a safe space for dogs to reside.
I am DBS checked and insured.

Are you Insured?

Yes. I am insured with Petpal Sanctuary.

Can you feed my dog his raw food?

My dogs all eat raw and have done so for 13 years. therefore we have the facilities and the knowledge to continue this. You can either bring your dog's food or we can supply it at cost.

Will my dog be left alone?

Ideally, a dog should be able to be left alone for no more than 2 hours at a time. This is rare as we are a busy household with people in and out all the time, but just in case they should have the ability to be without humans for up to 2 hours.

This is either done as a group or in a separate area.

It also enables them to have quiet time with soft toys or filled Kongs.

This enables me to walk all the dogs as needed.

What is a Worm Count?

A worm egg count is a faecal test to look at the worm burden of your dog; if your dog has any worms, what type of worms they are, and how many are present. The test results will tell you if your dog needs worming.

Doing a worm count test four times a year means you can treat as needed and not "just in case" which is healthier for the dog.

We use Feclab for our tests and are happy to test your dog when they are with us.

Cost is Â£18

What is VacciCheck?

VacciCheck Is a titer test to measure antibodies to Parvovirus, Hepatitis & Distemper.

VacciCheck eliminates the need to unnecessarily vaccinate and confirms the level of antibody presence to ensure that the dog has adequate protection.

Kit costs £35 from Dragonlabs.

Make an appointment with a vet nurse to draw the blood. Results & advice back within 2 weeks. Some vets can provide the test but price check.

What is WSAVA?

World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA). Vaccination guidelines based on evidence-based practice. In 2016 they recommended titer testing and vaccination if needed not more than 3 yearly. Next Canine Vaccination Guidelines are due September 2023.

Pet Grooming

While with us, dogs will be washed down after a muddy walk but if they need an extra groom we can take them to a local qualified groomer. This is at an extra cost of £50. Details available on request.

Vet Checks

We are happy to take your dog for its annual checkup or anything else he/she needs at his registered vet.
